Neo-Enochian Rite of The Dragon Mind

This rite is intended to call forward the reptilian brain aspect of our mind [link] for either examination or heightened sensory awareness and impulse response. This has been written using John Dee and Edward Kelley's Enochian language [link]. Warning: this will likely reduce inhibitions.

Light your candles; initiate your music. Cleanse ancd prepare your space as is your custom. Set up a notebook and a pen on your altar or ritual space for any trance writing/drawing. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths to focus yourself. Put yourself in your 'ritual-mind'. Ring a bell, gong or loudly clap to mark a sudden beginning. Open your eyes and recite the first invocation:

   (To the East...)
      IAD IAD OL ZONG TORZU
   (To the South...)
      IAD IAD OL MALPIRG TORZU
   (To the West...)
      IAD IAD OL ZIN TORZU
   (To the North...)
      IAD IAD OL CAOSGA TORZU

Burn your Dragon's Blood (or alternate choice) incense, take a deep breath, and recite three times:

   ZIR VOVINA IO-IAD
   CORAXO BI-EN TRIAN TORZUL
DARSAR DOSIG I CICLES ZIRDO V GRAA
   ANANAEL APILA PAR
   CNILA I PANPIR

Breathe deep, seven seconds to inhale. Then, low pitched, vibrate, "ur," with your exhalation. Hold for seven seconds. Inhale deeply for seven seconds. Then, low pitched as well, vibrate, "om," with your exhalation. Hold for seven seconds. Repeat this cycle until you feel completely relaxed and your focus is sharp.

Once all is charged, recite this mantra in a rythm that feels primal to you. Keep repeating until it is vibrating in your body and it is all you are aware of.

Mantra:
   ZIR VOVINA IO-IAD

What follows is up to your Dragon-Mind. It could be dangerous; it could be benign. There is no way to tell before hand. When you come out of it, you may wish to use a sharp, sudden and loud noise to clear the air. The Discordian method of banishing with laughter may be effective. Enjoy.

Rite of Symbolic Rebirth

I generally find a distaste with the manner in which pop-occult feminists treat what mythological scholars refer to as, "The Great Goddess." This ancient archetype embodies the feminine aspects of existence, representing life, death, and rebirth. When societies changed from hunter/gatherer to agriculture-based, this figure changed as well to represent grain, the new symbol of life. Some will say that her division into many other goddesses with the original's attributes is the result of a male-dominated society's attempt at "divide-and-conquer" to supress women. This is an amusing mindset, as the change was merely the result of a culture growing to favor pantheism over monotheism, which we have reverted to in the Judeo-Christian era. The Great Goddess is not some flakey, fluff-bunny, Wiccan concept. It is not the all-perfect woman to be worshipped by the heavily flawed failures that comprise the Neo-Pagan and Wiccan communities. The Great Goddess is the personified deity of attributes that humans, not deities, have designated as positive female traits. In truth, there is no gender behind the attributes. They are what they are.
Because of these things, I have generally steered clear of goddess-themed rites, other than my Rite of Baphomet joining male and female in sexual union. This can invariably lead to a sense of imbalance. Though I am most definitely, happily, and undeniably male, one should have a fair sense and embodiment of the gender they are not. Because of this fact, I have constructed a small rite to put one back in touch with the goddess (or demoness, however you prefer to view and label the female aspect). The only way a man can resolve the woman is through the vagina. When we are born, we pass from the womb, through that sacred gate, and into this world. We then, as some jokingly say, try for the rest of our lives to go back.
This rite should be done by oneself, and relies heavily on symbolic lighting. The materials you will need are relatively easy to locate, and are not all too cumbersome. You must ensure total seclusion and uninterruption. The most crucial piece to this rite is the place of birth. The near-eastern cultures described mankind's birth as being from the earth. The north-western cultures told of mankind originating from trees. Whichever your prefer, have handy a piece of raw wood or unbaked clay.
This rite serves not only to reconnect with the primal source, but also to look within oneself for the mysteries of life. Answers to questions you were not consciously aware of carrying will come forward. Perhaps you will gain a new name, reclaim an old moniker, learn a crucial piece to yourself, etc. The result is all up to your own subconscious... and the Ur.
Before beginning, create your environment. Scent the room with the sweet air of Lucifer, carried by relaxing sounds (perhaps a repeated recording of a heartbeat, or simple wind blowing). Reveal the chamber with the consuming fire of Satan. Fill the cup with the intoxicant waters of Leviathan. Sit yourself before the altar and solidify the foundation of Belial. Once you are in your ritualmind, you may begin by speaking:

Nammu
Ama Tu An Ki
Ama Palil U Tu
Dingir Sar Sar
Ra Ke Ne
Ehu
I wish to return to the womb.
I wish to journey to where I sprung,
that I may learn the secrets of life.
Nammu
Ama Tu An Ki
Ama Palil U Tu
Dingir Sar Sar
Ra Ke Ne
Ehu

Blow out the candles, grip your object of birth, and mantra the following:

Ama Tu An Ki Nammu Ama Palil U Tu Dingir Sar Sar Ra Ke Ne
(repeat from soft whisper to frenzied chant)

What comes next is entirely up to you. As the primal energies flow within you, move on instinct. When all comes to the peak of its crescendo and instinct gives no more instructions, light each candle once more, symbolic of emergence from the womb. After all has climaxed, calmed, then ceased, close the rite with an offering of thanks to both the primeval source and the four Crowned Ones. Banish the moment and return your chamber to normalcy. You are reborn.

Sif's Hair: The Origin of Mjolnir

Notes
Sif is the wife of Thor, and most known for her beautiful golden hair. It is said she spins her spells by twirling it in her fingers; most likely an allusion to seduction and manipulation, despite her known demeanor of sweetness and well-intent. Thor is the mighty thunder god, most celebrated of the Norse gods and defender of humanity from trolls, giants, and other monsters. He is most associated with his hammer, Mjolnir, but in earlier depictions, he is shown with an axe. Loki is Thor's adopted brother, the orphaned son of a frost-giant named Laufey. Loki is the trickster god, always playing pranks on the gods and being punished for it.
This tale is retold as a mixing of two different versions of 'Sif's Hair', found in Prose Edda (sometimes titled Snorra Edda), by Snorri Sturlsson. In one version, only the hair, the ship, and the spear are made, and Thor is seen to already have a hammer. This version contains Sif threatening Loki herself. In the version where the hammer is first forged, Thor threatens to break every bone in Loki's body. Opting to mix the two is the result of my own liking for a warrior act on Sif's part. I found the visual of Sif with a blade enticing.

The Tale
Sif wakes up one bright morning to discover her famed golden hair is on the floor. Immediately, she knows Loki is to blame. She dons her cloak and unsheathed her sword, ready to slay the trickster. Once in the hall, Sif spotted Loki and questioned him. Loki proclaims cutting her hair was merely a joke; one that Sif makes known was not humorous! Having backed Loki against the wall, Sif demanded compensation, her blade to his face. Once more, Loki absolves himself that he is not at fault, for she cannot see the humor in this deed, and once more, Sif presses the blade of her well-oiled sword to his face, demanding compensation. Trying to escape, Loki accidentally cuts himself on Sif's blade. Inspired by his new wound, Loki promises to visit the dwarves and gain replacement for Sif's lost hair. He then leaves, mumbling to himself, trying to figure out how he will keep his promises.
Once in the dark and wet caves of the dwarven forges, Loki's spirits have returned and he resolves to not mention his own part in the deed he came to fix. The two dwarves, sons of Ivaldi, could indeed spin new golden hair for Sif, but could see now reason why they should do this for Loki. In his mind, Loki could see the anger in Sif's eye, and pleaded with the dwarves to do this task. He told them of the thanks they would receive from Sif, Thor, himself, and the payment of favor he would give them.
The dwarves noticed the trickster's discomfort, and realized what bargaining hold they could have over him, should threat of retelling this event be wagered. The dwarves then agreed to take on this task, and threw fire onto the furnace to warm the forge. One worked the bellows of the forge while the other hammered the gold and spun it. Together, the sons of Ivaldi created beautiful, shimmering strands of gold, chanting incantations and spells. Once complete, the gold draped across Loki's arm, rippling and gleaming, changing color and glistening like an autumnal field of ripe corn. Loki smiled wide. The dwarves also then made a magic ship and a magic spear as gifts for the Aesir gods.
Convinced that none could match the workmanship of the sons of Ivaldi, Loki challenged the dwarf named Eitri to top these things. Eitri, and his assistant Brokk, forged a gold ring, a golden boar, and a hammer. To sabotage their work, Loki turned into a fly and bit Brokk, who was working the forge, while Eitri hammered, distracting him. Brokk left the bellows, and the third item, the hammer, was made with a short handle.
The six golden workings were brough to the gods in Asgard for judgement. The gods were all in agreement, the hammer was the best of these treasures. Brokk then presented the hammer, Mjolnir, to Thor, the thunder god, and spoke of its powers. It could not break, it would always return to his hand after being thrown, and it could shrink to fit concealed within Thor's shirt. From that time forth, Thor would no longer be depicted with an axe; always now, he had his hammer.

Howling of the Jinn

Introduction
The Jinn, Djinn, Genie... Do you dream of Jeannie? Once looked into, a sinister thought indeed. From the ever-shifting sands of the 'ancient near-east' comes to our subconsciousness a force fiendish and very influential. This is less a full study of mine on the Jinn and more of a collection of information paraphrased to serve as a slighting reference. A howl from the past echoes in our minds and makes itself known in our culture. Welcome now, to the world of the Jinn.

The Hierarchy
Iblis (Eblis) - Father of two types of Jinn. Iblis was androgynous and gave birth to all the Sheitan and Ghillan.
Marid - The most powerful of the Jinn.
Afreet (Efreet, Ifrit) - Filled with vast intelligence, the Afreet were the second most powerful of the Jinn. "If they cause even more harm and become strong, they are called afreet." An Ifrît (strong) said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place (council). And verily, I am indeed strong, and trustworthy for such work." [Koran 27:39]
Sheitan (Shaitan, Sheytan, Satan) - The third strongest of Jinn, the Sheitan were fathered by Iblis. "If one is mentioning the evil ones that antagonize humans they are called shaitan for the singular [and shayateen for plural]." The Sheitan are said to purposely antagonize humans. "Surely, Shaitân (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.", Koran - Faatir 35:6. "And let not Shaitân (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islâmic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy.", Koran - Az-Zukhruf 43:62. "It is only Shaitân that suggests to you the fear of his Auliyâ' [supporters and friends (polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger, Muhammad )], so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are believers.", Koran - Az-Zukhruf 43:62. Hebrew culture held STN (Satan) as a term for all who opposed the doctrine of IHVH. Later Christianity relegated Satan to the devil, their fallen angel whom opposes their God, Jesus Christ. Traditional Satanism and Luciferianism hold Satan as the god of rebellion and fire in the South. Modern Satanism uses Satan as the archetype to freedom from and opposition of ways that hinder carnality and strength.
Ghilan (Ghul, Ghillan, Ghoul) - Also the offspring of Iblis, the Ghilan were the fourth strongest of the Jinn. A Ghilan could change its shape at will but its feet remained hooves. It is said a Ghilan may be struck dead with one blow, but two blows would give it new life. Ghilan consumed from corpses and robbed graves.
Jann - The lowest order of Jinn, the Jann, were the fifth strongest. They created minor disturbances and thieved the cows of farmers.

The Origin
   Koran - Ar-Rahmaan 55:15, 15
He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire.
The Koran - Al-Hijr 15:26-42
26. And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.
27. And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire.
28. And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.
29. "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him."
30. So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together.
31. Except Iblîs (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators.
32. (Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?"
33. [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud."
34. (Allâh) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajîm (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsîr At-Tabarî]
35. "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
36. [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected."
37. Allâh said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved,
38. "Till the Day of the time appointed."
39. [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all.
40. "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them."
41. (Allâh) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me."
42. "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghâwîn (Mushrikûn and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.).

We All Dream of Jeannie
According to Allah's Apostle [Hadith - Sahih Muslim 6757, Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, similar narration 6759 by 'Aisha, r.a.], we all have a Jinn attached to us. I do not feel I would be alone in assuming this refers to what modern Western media and entertainment has portrayed as the Christian Devil sitting on one shoulder telling us to fulfill our selfish desires with blatant disregard to others involved (always balanced by the Christian Angel telling us to be selfless and consider those involved before acting, if acting at all!). This concept of our own dual nature spans many, many cultures from the earliest philosophies to the youngest thinkings nowadays.
Those Who Walk Among Us
It is said [Koran - Al-An'aam 6:112] that the Shaitan can walk among us in the form of a human as well as their natural form. Their speech may cause delusion and is draped in deception. The Koran warns to leave them to their workings and not disturb them.

Concluding
The mythology and cultural significance surrounding the Jinn is incredible and tales numbering beyond mentionable count involve a form of Jinn (or subtle influence). Exaggerated as that statement may be, the Jinn were and still are a powerful influence on more than a few cultures, but most especially their Arabic roots.

Sigil Magick

Sigil Magick involves the creation, charging, and execution of a usually self-made symbol to accomplish a specific goal. There are countless methods one could use to create and employ a sigil. Here, I will describe in detail some of these methods and how they work. Symbolism is the universal language and surrounds us in our everyday lives. What do you think of when you see two golden arches?...fast food. When you see a dog sitting beside a phonograph?... stereo equipment! Symbols are fed to us everyday of our lives, and if you have not already done so, it may just be the time to take control and use them for your own advantage!

Some time ago, on an internet message board I used to manage, someone posted a question concerning sigils. I feel that this post and my response can be helpful to this topic so I shall reprint it here:

> > Is there a ritual for divining or 'blessing' my own sigil?
> > I created my own sigil out of individuality and the need for
> > identity as a practitioner of magick. Or any advice if I'll
> > create my own divining ritual for my sigil?
> > Posted by Frater Akuma on January 23, 2001

Well, it's almost always best to create your own sigil. After all, if it is for purposes of establishing your magickal identity, so to speak, it should come from you. There are many methods of sigil creation. Many Chaos Magick practitioners use various A. Spare methods, and his books are fairly easy to find.
I, personally, like to use a couple different methods. One is creating the sigil from letters of intent. Example, say you want your to be derived from your nickname, Akuma. You would make a circle or box or whatever shape best fits your desire, and within it, write the letters A-K-U-M (eliminating repeating letters) on top of each other. From the shape left over, alter it to your desire into the sigil of your chosing! Keep working on it until it "feels" right. The other method I use is that of combining and morphing already existing symbols. Take whatever symbols mean the most to you, put them together how they fit in your mind, and do whatever is neccesary to the remaining shape to make it "feel" right.
Once you have your symbol, it is a good idea to charge it. To do so, you need to, in whatever way you feel works best for you, put forth a great deal of your own energy into the sigil. many do this with blood, meditation, masturbation, or anger... but it can be done in any way you feel best with.
From there on, your personal sigil can be used for many things. You can mark objects or seal rituals, or whatever you feel should have your mark on it. Divination, though Ive never heard of it done with a personal sigil, can be used also. I, personally, use sigil method for divination but not my personal sigil. To each their own :)

That, in its raw and unedited form (ha), sums up sigilization fairly simply. Once you have your sigil created and charged to the goal, you may put it forth like a seal. The method I always use in ritual for sealing a sigil comes after all invocations and such are done. This should be done as the final step in your ritual. You place the sigil on your hand (of course inscribed on a piece of paper, parchment, or birch bark). While concentrating on your goal, pour wax over it until it is completely covered, making sure you send all energy put forth into the sigil. Once it is utterly drowned in wax and no paper is left (make sure you wax both sides by letting wax drip into the "cup" of your palm), stamp your other hand down onto the sigil. It may hurt and the wax will splatter, but the sigil has now become a seal. You then must wrap it in some sort of cloth (best to purify the cloth beforehand), and place it somewhere safe where no one else will find it. From there on, you close your ritual and forget all that has transpired.

Sumer And The Third Reich

Purpose:
It is the purpose of this essay to outline the connections between Sumerian culture and the Third Reich that I have discovered in my research into the world of the Sumerians. Some readers of this essay may mistakenly surmise that I am a Nazi. This is not so. I do not hate any one race. My hatred, though owned by the masses, is directed at specific people and attitudes. I have derived some connections in my research that have led me to conclude the overtaking of Sumer by the early Semitic nomads was an influencing factor in Hitler's quest against the Jews. I have presented this theory to many people whom are knowledgeable in this area of study and the general response is, "coincidence". If it is merely coincidence, then boy what a coincidence!

Reasonings:
1. Ninhursag birthed the god Nazi to heal Enki.
2. One of the cultures to produce the Swastika was Sumer (it symbolized power).
3. The early Semites destroyed/took-over Mesopotamia. Hitler killed many Jews during WW2.
4. Hitler studied Sumerian culture. Germany was one of the nations excavating Sumer around that time.

List Expanded:
I. The Sumerian tablet titled, 'Enki And Ninhursag: The Affairs Of The Water-God', reads:
Ninhursag: "My brother, what hurts thee?"
Enki: "my [unknown word] hurts me."
Ninhursag: "To the god Nazi I gave birth for thee."
And later in this tablet:
Enki: "Let Nazi marry Nindar"
The name Nazi translates to, "to destroy the past", or "destroyed", in the Sumerian language. "Na", is a Sumerian word that when used as a prefix denotes past-tense. "Zi", can mean either "life", "breath", "soul", or "to destroy". In a past-tense, Na-Zi can be translated as one of the following: lived, soulless, or destroyed. Either way, Na-Zi would regard an end to life in some form or another. The traditional origin of the term Nazi is "National Socialism". Every single person I have presented the theory of the term actually being derived from the deity claim it is merely coincidence. They say there is no way National Socialism is just a mask, a smoke screen, for the true purpose of the Third Reich. Maybe National Socialism was a convenient cover. If so, it was obviously very effective. These consulted people also deny that the Nazi movement had any connections with the occult. This is definitely for lack of facts. There has been much uncovered to a side of the Nazi movement which studied and practiced the occult. Heinrich Himmler, leader of the SS, appointed Karl Maria Wiligut as head of Prehistory in the SS. Wiligut discovered and put into practice ancient Germanic rituals, some of which Himmler himself partook. For those wishing to reference this or review documents pertaining directly to this, I highly reccomend the Rûna-Raven Press book, The Secret King. It is translated into English by Stephen Flowers, PhD. A great deal of the symbolism directly involved with the Nazi movement had Runic roots. Wherever the source may be debated, the Nazi movement had strong occult influence.

II. Many regions produced the swastika, the most well-known being the Nordic. The one I am focussing on here is Sumer. The swastika was a symbol of power to the Sumerians. It symbolised the eternal cycle of power. To the Sumerian, it was life, just as it symbolised Odin's Wheel in Nordic cultures, the eternal cycles of time. This is not to say the true source for the swastika was Sumer, but perhaps it helped in their decision to utilize it.

III. Around 2000 BC, Semitic nomads invaded Mesopotamia and over time the region became dominantly Semitic, and eventually completely Semitic. Signs are pointing to the war waged on Jews by Hitler to have motivations in this act. That the destruction of Sumer by the Semites could be an influencing factor in Hitler's war is not an impossibility.

IV. It is well-known that Germany studied Sumerian culture. Around the time of the Third Reich, Germany was one of the many cultures excavating Mesopotamia. It wouldn't be too far off to surmise he discovered a few things about their culture that fueled this quest.

Conclusion:
It is my personal conclusion that, though it was not the main reason, the destruction of Sumer by the Semitic peoples was an influencing factor in Hitler's quest against the Jews. The Jewish people were not the only ones slaughtered and may not even make a majority of them, but they were a very prominent piece of the Concentration Camps. The focusing on the Jewish population of these camps is reminiscent of the Roman Empire's execution of Christians. The Christians did not make up even close to a majority of the criminals put to death in the Roman Empire, yet they focus on that particular people more than any other, just as the Jews have this focus on them in the death camps more than the Gypsies, homosexuals, or any other peoples put to death there. Why is it that the Judaic variants of people have more importance in history than everyone else? Maybe it is because the people writing the history books are of the Judaic pantheon of variants.

der Nacht

The night is a time and place of fear and wonder. The world gives a piece of itself to become a blank slate for our fears and desires which we project into it with automatic, subconscious ease. The nighttime darkness is certainly the infamous abyss spoken of by the late German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche in the phrase, "When you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you." It is raw energy and potential just waiting to be tapped and shaped by us.

Though the main deities of most ancient cultures revolve around the day, (the most prominent deity usually being a Sun god or goddess) they also contain a very strong set of nighttime or dark deities both counteracting and complimenting the Sun deities. While the lords of the day generally represent restraint and discipline, the lords of the night symbolize unrepentant and free passions, be it in the fears or the rampant desires of the people. No matter how it is shown, the significance of one to the other is present. Even those who do not live nocturnally experience the passions of the night (if only in their dreams). Everyone lives upon both sides of the coin.

Life is an example of a perfect balance. I am not speaking of standing in one place without falling over or finding that perfect meditative pose. I am speaking about the balance of the two most raw elements in the universe. I am speaking of the Yin and the Yang. I am talking of the balance between chaos and order. This sacred balance is what glues everything together and, at the same time, smashes existence into nothingness. It is the crushing of one soul as fuel for the creation of another. From chaos comes order and from order comes chaos. They exist simultaneously and work both for and against one another. From chaos comes a structured reality and when that structured reality dies, it is consumed in chaos. The same can be seen for day and night: light and dark. In the day, we are absorbed in the material realm. We think and feel the physical things around us. When we look at a field in daylight, we see grass and maybe some trees. If we were to look at the same field in the dark of night, we would see a world of possible fears, threats, desires, and dreams. We no longer become obsessed with the trappings of the material realm. We shift our focus ever so slightly and notice things on the other side of this eternally flipping coin.

We are beings comprised of both chaos and order, energy and matter. We exist in the physical realm in our bodies. Our bodies are moved by our souls as we think, feel, and command. The things we recognize as gods, demons, spirits, faeries, wights and divine beings in general, are the same as us -- merely existing without the shells. The binding of energy and matter into one unit (the life that exists as plants and animals) explains the genetic purpose of procreation: (the continuance of the genome's own code) to maintain that very balance. The flesh reproduces itself to make shells for souls. The mixing of the shell and the soul, the physical and the energetic, makes the two elements one. This creates a perfect balance between energy and matter. This balance is the meaning of life as we are capable of understanding it.

Humans are still, after 50,000 traceable years of evolution and development, only just discovering their hidden abilities. Exploring these abilities is the very purpose of the occult as a whole. We seek to learn, to discover, to know, and to grow from these things to the ultimate Luciferian goal: self-deification. Through rite and ritual, we attempt to connect to the divine beings of our choosing and communicate with them. We achieve this communication by utilizing the special abilities inside of ourselves. Through every kind of magickal practice, there is one thing that must be included. There is one true key: focus. We must focus to space out the distractions of the physical realm and explore the energy that exists throughout everything. All worlds are one, all dimensions are one and all planes of existence are one. What divides them all is perception and only through true focus can we see through these walls. Focus allows us to use these abilities that are hidden within us. Nature created many distractions, but as our race grew stronger and populated this world more obesely, we created distractions to match. The more people that exist, the more distractions become necessary. This way only a few will be able to see past them. Only those of a special caliber can focus beyond the world's distractions and access the abilities necessary to perceive the other dimensions of existence. If everyone was able to do this, (because you know if they can, they most certainly will) then the balance between chaos and order, energy and physical, would be tipped to chaos. All matter would eventually become energy and existence would require another "big bang" to create the new balance.

Among all of the varied systems of magick and disciplines of occult practice we have available to us, there exists a practice far more raw than any established. There floats between the lines of dogmatic heirarchies and structured systems a practice that is as old as civilization itself. It has no name, adheres to no true system and follows no doctrine. This is a system of nature, of instinct, and most importantly, of the self. The practices of this sort can be found throughout nearly all systems in some form or another. This magick is done raw and without restraint. It is done in the moment, improvised, and executed with the simple products of nature. It is done with sticks, with fire, with dirt, with stones, with crystals, with water, in the winds of a storm, with blood, with semen, with sweat, with tears, with flesh, with paper, with emotion, with passion, with laughter, and with fury. All systems are built of this raw awareness, for that is all it truely is. There is no structured knowledge with this practice, only raw awareness of what is within you and surrounding you coupled with the instinct to use it. Conscious thought lessens this practice's success. This magick is done by the cycles of the moon, by the flow of a woman's sacred blood, by the patterns of the sun's journey through the sky, by the path of the stars (with especial reverence to the path traced by morningstar/eveningstar Venus, the pentagram!), by the directions of the winds, and by the grumblings of the clouds. Oh, how I revere the thunderstorm! No rites or techniques can be laid out for you. These are practices you must find on your own. All I have done is given you a slight of awareness to let your own inner black flame guide you on. My rites would not work for you as yours would not work for me. May no other even so much as touch the rites we have for ourselves! None are so powerful and none are so deep. May all those who quest to steal the rites of our true selves be smashed down impotent by their own impudence! There is, however, a need for structured organizations with this knowledge of magick. There needs to be a structure to maintain the occult nature of this. Organizations such as the Church of Lucifer maintain the secrecy of their techniques in harnessing these powers, just as a dojo will maintain the propriety of their techniques in utilizing our bodies as martial arts tools. This is an extremely vital component to the balance.

As I said earlier in this convoluted article, the night is a time and place of fear and wonder. In the night we are presented with a clean palette to mentally paint our fears and desires upon. Control this and manifest what you will. As they say, the night is yours, my child, use it well. Do be sure to remember: the dawn never dispells, it merely hides the demons you will uncover.

The Question of Deism

Introduction
One of the biggest questions in the occult and alternative religion world is the existence of deities. To answer this completely, we must first define the word, "deity". Dictionary.com (2001, Lexico LLC) defines deity as, "1. A god or goddess. 2. The essential nature or condition of being a god, divinity." So now we must define, "god", and, "goddess". This is defined as, "A being of supernatural powers or attributes, believed in and worshiped by a people," ... "to control some part of nature or reality." In simpler terms, a deity is a force of nature that a people or person has perceived as being sentient. The reality of deities then is left up to whether or not forces of nature can be or are sentient. When you use ritual to call a force, is it hearing and consciously responding or is the belief merely using your own energy and will to influence the non-aware force? Really, no one could prove either perception beyond their own individual experience and belief. So, how do we answer this question? At this point in this writing, the best we can do is analyze the two perceptions and pick the most likely choice.

Perceptions
   A. Sentient Forces
There are two different ways one could perceive the existence of sentience in forces of nature. Each is possibly valid and we will examine both to determine the most likely.
The first would be summed up by the statement, "man created god." This is the belief that forces would act in a sentient nature because by believing they are sentient, we place that sentience into its behavior. The belief that a sentient being would behave a certainw ay would influence the force into that very behavior, thus thoroughly convincing the person in question that the force is indeed sentient.
The second would be summed up by the reverse of the previous statement, "god created man." The belief held here is that the forces of nature are indeed sentient. To bearers of this belief, the behavior and actions of these forces, and their experiences with them, prove beyond a doubt that the forces of nature are conscious and aware.
Reasoning one can be used to explain away reasoning two, but neither can be fully proven as the human mind is capable of fantastic rationalization when it encounters the unknown and misunderstood in perceived reality. Were we to conclude this essay with the decision of sentience, reasoning one would be the logical solution prevailing with reasoning two a strong possibility.
   B. Non-Aware Forces
Science and logic both dictate forces of nature having no awareness. These forces behave based on each other. Not quite random, but structured upon one another. The ultimate controller behind the Earth's forces is the orbit itself of the Sun. Our own orbit, which is affects our spin, which in turn affects everything right down to the moods of its inhabitants to the vitality and patterns of its agriculture. None of these things dictate an existence of deities. A bearer of this mindset would explain a deist's beliefs with reasoning one found in A. Sentient Forces.

Logic, Reason, And Belief
Logic and reason dictate that sentience is given to forces of nature by those influencing it. To avoid getting deep into quantum and reality theorum, I will conclude this as a draw-up. We each define our own realities from one base and the line between these two is too thin to cut (figure that one out yourself).

Satanarchy Revisited

Introduction
A couple of years ago I wrote a short essay titled 'Satanarchy'. This clumsy pile of ASCII bits was my first attempt at linking the two most prevalent and oft-times conflicting philosophies that I harbor: Anarchism and Luciferianism (the title including Satan rather than Lucifer due purely to it fitting in the word-play much better). The attempt was feeble but a start to something I couldn't formulate until recently, though even now not completely. It is very difficult to link two philosophies who tend to clash at so many intervals. This essay is my second attempt. I do hope it goes well. I should like to note, just before I go on, that the Anarchist thought I use is the modern form. There have been many interpretations of Anarchist thought and Anarchism in the past. The difference between Anarchism and Anarchist Thought should be known and I recommend you to look up information on it. After all, how can an Anarchist ever truly submit to any '*ism'?

Anarchy
A state in which there are no masters, lords, or gods over one's own self. In my essay, 'Free', I touch upon the issue of why we are ruled in the first place. Both the essays and the state of anarchy agree that it is wrong for one to be ruled over by another. I should like to note, for the benefit of assumptious Left-Hand Path folk, that the natural quest for dominance (to the extent of my own assumptious nature I feel is due to the genome's self-continuance functions) is separate from the state of ruling over another and/or being ruled over by another. Dominance does not require a ruling class, nor does the continuance of the genetic code, more lovingly referred to as procreation. Anarchy is the awareness that no one has the right to rule over your mind and body, and the willingness to fight (passively or aggressively) for your own freedom from another's rule over your mind and body. To put it all so simply, this is how it was stated in my last essay:
"...the belief that there should be no government or ruling class and that this may be achieved through chaos. It is the belief that all should be free to do as they will as long as they do not intentionally harm another."

Luciferi
Living for one's self, constantly striving to attain higher states of physical and mental being; Luciferianism, a sect of the Left-Hand Path, focuses on self-deification through enlightenment and the practice of self-gratifying activities. The only moralities embedded in this philosophy are those basic to the Left-Hand Path such as: do not harm children, all sexual activity must be consensual, and do not harm non-human animals unless in self-defense or for food. The archetype of Lucifer stems from the Roman name for Venus in its Morning Star phase: Light-Bringer. Lucifer is the derivative of the Latin translation of this name, "lvx ferre." The archetype symbolizes both pride and enlightenment, two core aspects to Luciferianism. Just as the Bible of the Christian faith refers to Lucifer as (a) Satan, so to do Luciferian practitioners rebel against the god(s) of Judea (YHWH and Jeshua). This rebellious side to the Left-Hand Path perceives the teachings of the Judeo-Christian religions as self-detrimental and sometimes directly self-destructive. This is also a larger piece of the reasoning behind using the Lucifer name, symbology, and archetype. Here an excerpt from the outlining description I gave in my last essay on Satanism:
"In Modern Satanism, Satan is used merely as a symbol of rebellion against the will of the Christian god and many organized religions; and Lucifer is used as a symbol of enlightenment, wisdom and truth; and they do not believe that any demons or spirits exist.

Jigsaw Puzzle of Doom
This is where it gets difficult. I feel like I am on the opposite end of the spectrum I was on while writing 'Punk Rock and Black Metal: Brothers In Arms?' -- the connections were clear there and obscured here. The Left-Hand Path focuses on worship of the self, attainment of hidden knowledge and self-gratification. Anarchist thought focuses on freedom from oppression and cooperative community. The Left-Hand Path practitioner utilizes occult ritual, carnal fulfillment, emotional & physical extremes and social engineering to attain his or her goals. The Anarchist utilizes DIY (Do It Yourself) methods, subversive thought-spreading and social engineering to attain her or his goals. It seems obvious that though the two are not fully interchangeable, it can be smooth for an Anarchist to be also a Left-Hand Path practitioner and vice versa. What do we have for one who feels akin to both? What could we possibly label or create for someone who walks the Left-Hand Path and believes in Anarchy? The label comes to me somewhat easily, though resolving my own lifestyle is a slightly less-newly paved road. The old label I coined is definitely out, even if only for its inherent cheesiness. Satanarchy is replaced with Left-Hand Anarchism.

Left-Hand Anarchism?
Is Left-Hand Anarchism possible? Anarchist thought generally speaks out against self-serving and selfishness, touting the benefits of cooperative methodology. I say this, if cooperative methods benefit the whole, doesn't that benefit the self as well? The argument between the two is a thin line that shouldn't even be there. The only conflict that legitimately exists is self-serving to the point of detriment in the cooperative. This will, however, end up being detrimental to the self and therefore does not equate with a selfish nature. I plan on going into much more detail on my own practice in a following essay. It is up to the Left-Hand Anarchist her/himself to find how the two interweave. Like these things should be, it is a personal matter.

Conclusion
So I suppose my current resolution is to call myself a Luciferian Anarchist practicing Left-Hand Anarchism. Yes, I accept material gain and wealth but not to my own detriment and it does not give me rights to a ruling class. You are not what you own. Maybe next time I will open a whole can of worms by comparing the use of deities as archetypes being the establishment of a symbolic ruling class, just to ruin my own day.

Duality

I've been thinking about duality today. I don't want to get overly metaphysical on you but it exists everywhere and in everything. This is by no means a new concept, but I've been thinking about it. Everything has at the very least, two opposing sides to it. The example currently in mind is referenced a lot by Marilyn Manson in his lyrics. Each of us have a god and devil side, most commonly shown in cartoons with the angel and devil on each shoulder of a person when he·she·it is at a crossroads or needs to make a decision. The Church of Satan emphasizes the carnal nature and devil side of this duality. They state in their literature that one should be self-serving, satisfy one's own needs, help only when feeling pity, be their own god. They exemplify one of the best philosophy systems for the 'devil side' I have seen to date. Another is the Church of Lucifer, suggesting in their literature that one should build their own ideal life, work towards their personal utopia, and eliminate anything and anyone (symbolically, of course) that stands in between one and one's utopia; again, an amazing manifestation of said 'devil side.'

In topics like this, and most other 'occult'-related topics for that matter, the issue of analogy and metaphor is a convoluted one at best. Words like 'light' and 'dark' considerably lose their meaning. I have found in my experiences and interactions with other people of the 'occult community', each person sees each analogy slightly different. Some see light as bad and blinding, some see it as enlightenment and wisdom. Some see darkness as void and nothingness, whereas others see it as a staple for independence and rebellion. In a metaphorical and analogical sense, each is right and each is wrong. Light is a type of matter, dark is the absence thereof. In this literal and scientific sense, all of the aforementioned analogies for light are incorrect, but they are not meant literally. This leads me to the term 'black light' (also known as 'dark light,' 'black flame,' etc.). There have been many, many definitions given for this term. Some see it as the light that casts no shadow, illuminating all and hiding no falsehoods. Others see it as the creative force in each of us; and even others see it as the vital lifeforce! The Church of Satan notably refers to it as the 'dark side of nature,' which is how CoS founder Anton LaVey perceives 'Satan.' The nature of the duality between light and dark, be it in the realm of physics or in the realm of occult study, proves to be an infinite expanse of differing opinions, viewpoints, and perceptions; countless symbolic oppositions and interconnections.

Quoth

Stoop not down to the dark world,
Beneath which lies a faithless depth,
And Hades dark all over, squallid, delighting in images, unintelligible,
Precipitous, creaggy, a depth;
Always rolling, always espousing an opacous, idle breathless body,
And the light hating world, and the winding currents,
By which many things are swallowed up.

Stoop not down, for a precipice lies below the earth;
Drawing through the ladder which hath seven steps,
Beneath which is the throne of necessity.
